Many Groups, One Goal

There are a number of organizations in our area working toward an environmentally responsible way of life.

We are partnered with two non-profits: SURGE (Students United for a Responsible Global Environment) and The Forest Foundation, allotting 5% of profits to each of these organizations.  Please visit their web sites for more information on their work.

Other allies in our work for environmental sustainability

Want a bike rickshaw ride in Raleigh? Check out Raleigh Rickshaw.

The Recyclery and their Blue Urban Bikes (BUB) community bicycle loan program. The Recyclery is "a not-for-profit organization that provides a creative workspace to connect salvaged bikes with active community members, creates opportunities for skill building and volunteerism, and seeks to increase the use of the bicycle for both transportation and recreation."

The BUB program has loaner bikes throughout Chapel Hill and Carrboro; joining is easy and inexpensive, and it makes biking even more convenient and fun.

Durham Bike Co-op does something similar for Durham. They encourage the use of bicycling by sharing skills for bicycle repair and maintenance, and specifically work with both children and adults.

Clean Energy Durham "promotes and encourages energy savings, neighborhood by neighborhood."
