- How far in advance should I reserve?
- For immediate local pickup in a pedicab, check the status to see if a driver is available, and call the dispatch line. For a simple vehicle pickup, you should arrange at least 1 day in advance if possible. To make a reservation for a special event with pedicab or vehicles, at least 1 week's advance notice is preferred. For bigger events, or reservations including a bus, one month advance notice is preferred.
- Do you allow smoking in your vehicles?
- Absolutely no smoking in the cars, vans, and buses.
- Can I call a pedicab just like calling a regular cab? What are the differences?
- Yes. You can see our status and map, to see if drivers are currently available in the city. For a pickup, just call the dispatch line.
The differences:
- Our pedicab service is not always available, like a 24-hour cab. We have regular hours of operation, but drivers may be available outside of those hours, so please call for inquiries.
- We can't go as far as a vehicle. If you're planning to go outside of the city, ask for a vehicle pickup instead.
- Pedicabs have 3 wheels, and are powered by people.
- How many pedicabs do you have?
- Currently, there are two pedicabs available. Special arrangements for more may be made, call for inquiries.
- Can your pedicab drivers dress formally for my wedding?
- Yes! We can arrive in a tuxedo shirt and bowtie, but further arrangements are possible.
- What if it rains when I have a pedicab reservation?
- If you have reserved an event beforehand, rain cancellation with full refund is available up to 24 hours before the event. Beyond that, cancellation will result in a lost deposit.
- Where rates depend on number of passengers, does my small child count as a separate passenger?
- No. Small kids ( with adult) are free.
- What's a pedicab? What's a bicycle rickshaw?
- First off, a pedicab is the same thing as a bicycle rickshaw. We use the terms interchangeably. "Bicycle rickshaw" is an older and more widely-known term, but we like "pedicab" because it's easier and faster to say -- and we have to say it a lot.
It is basicallly a bicycle with three wheels and a passenger seat.
Bicycle rickshaws were in used in China as a traditional and economical means of transportation. The "Original" rickshaw was a wheeled cart pulled by hand, and without a bicycle. ( Think a backwards wheelbarrow. ) They are now booming as a popular means of alternative transportation in crowded cities around the world.
- Do you have any veggie-oil (SVO) vehicles available?
- No, not on SVO - (Straight Veggie Oil). Most of our fleet is run on Biodiesel, which is diesel fuel produced from veggie oil.
